Next up in our The Sound of Music Auditions series, we have Donald Chui!

What I enjoyed… from this audition was the super fun singing and dancing, which I got to do with a lot of wonderful guys - from whom I have learned much especially English speaking. I got to make some new friends.

The most challenging thing…. for me was dancing on stage while singing at the same time. I normally do these two things separately.

I paid much attention to.... what other guys did well. It was a good way to improve myself immediately for my performance.

The most memorable experience... was once when I finished singing the song “So Long Farewell”, I got the director’s praise and applause from all the participants afterwards.

My auditioning tips for other young people are, first, be confident in all the parts that you are required. Second, take sufficient rest before and in between the auditioning days. Finally, pay attention all the time.

My favourite musical... is Matilda. It is a very funny story but also very touching. There
are many roles for kids. I hope I can play one of them someday.
